Mission
Our mission is to ensure that communities across California adopt equitable housing policies as part of the 6th RHNA cycle. To undo decades of exclusionary housing policies, California needs a statewide coalition dedicated to tracking the Housing Element process and using this powerful opportunity to undo systemic racism embedded in our laws.
Who we are
The Campaign for Fair Housing Elements is a project of YIMBY Action & YIMBY Law statewide coalition of housing organizations. Pulling together resources and activists from across the state, our members are leveraging legal expertise and passionate volunteers to track cities as they adopt their Housing Elements to ensure the values of equity, inclusion, diversity, and opportunity are advanced through local housing policies.
Steering Committee
The organizations on the Steering Committee of the Campaign for Fair Housing Elements have all worked on facets of the California housing shortage for years. We formed this campaign ensure California cities plan equitable housing policies that reduce economic and racial segregation through the Housing Element process.
